ZINC
We use quartz zinc which is treated in the mass to give it an attractive permanent matt finish. It will weather gently over time. Lettering is in oil based paint.
CEMENT
We mould the cement with a choice of surface incorporating ammonite, leaf or seedhead motifs. We then apply a waterproofing sealant for protection. The slightly raised lettering is stencilled with a hard wearing acrylic modelling paste.
RUSTED STEEL
We rust the steel plaques in our garden over a period of weeks. The beautiful surface is then protected with 3 coats of exterior quality oil based varnish to produce a smooth matt finish. Lettering is in oil based paint.
PRINTED ON ZINC
Our discreet flower images are printed on a flat-bed inkjet printer onto high quality exterior grade vinyl which needs no protective coat. We use this long life material for many of our professional signs.
SLATE ALONE
We supply stainless steel screws for fixing these plaques. The lettering is in oil based paint.
SLATE ON OAK
We tint the oak with a dark taupe followed by a rub of white to reveal the natural grain. It is then sealed with 2 coats of top quality wood seal. We cut keyhole shapes on the back of the oak to hang from screws in the wall. A dab of mastic on the screws will give you extra security.
ALL PLAQUES
All our different plaques are permanently bonded to the slate with an all weather long life adhesive.
fixings
Fixings are invisible or, for the simple slate plaques, we supply stainless steel screws.
All plaques are packaged with ‘Where to Drill the Holes’ instructions for fool proof fixing to a suitable flat vertical surface such as a brick wall.
DOOR NUMBERS
If you prefer to fix your plaque on a door we can replace the invisible fixings with holes and screws. Please specify when ordering.
lettering
The colour of your lettering will be shaded white on zinc, rusted steel and slate, dark grey on cement and white on printed images.
Numbers and names are painted onto the cement, zinc, rusted steel and slate. Lettering is stencilled in either oil based or acrylic paint. Those on the printed plaques are cut from top quality exterior grade matt vinyl.

All plaques are hand made to order so allow 3 weeks from date of order to arrival. If we envisage a longer delay you will be notified by e mail with the expected delivery date.
Payment by credit or debit card is secure via PayPal or using your PayPal account according to their terms and conditions. We do not hold your credit card details and will not pass any of your other details on to any one else.
Confirmation of your order will be sent by email together with a reference number.
Goods that are lost in transit will be replaced after a reasonable period of time to allow for a postal search.
Our careful packaging should ensure your sign arrives in perfect condition. However if damage occurs during transit you should inform us as soon as possible with a photo of the damaged plaque. We will then send a replacement.
Our plaques are hand crafted. Please make allowances for small variations in colour and surface finish of the cement, slate and rusted steel.
